The Hudas Tahai Project has always explored different ways to keep Bunun culture and stories visible, accessible, and alive for future generations.
This year, we have begun a new journey — creating a Bunun cultural board game.
Through this project, we hope to transform the cultural knowledge and materials we have accumulated over the years into a more interactive learning experience. Through play, children, young people, and anyone interested in Bunun culture will have another way to discover and engage with our cultural heritage. Cultural transmission does not have to remain only in books or exhibitions — it can also happen through interaction, participation, and play.
The board game is currently under development, and our illustrator is working on its characters, scenes, and other visual elements. The artwork for this project is being created by the illustrator through a combination of traditional hand-drawing and digital illustration. It is not AI-generated. From character design and traditional clothing to settings and cultural elements, each illustration goes through a process of sketching, drawing, refinement, and adjustment.
Today, we would like to share one of the illustrations currently in development, giving everyone who has supported the Hudas Tahai Project a glimpse of where this cultural relay baton is heading next.
From life-history documentation, woodcarving exhibitions, picture books, and cultural education to today’s board game, the media we use may continue to change, but our purpose remains the same — to keep the culture moving forward from one generation to the next.

今年，我們正進行一項新的嘗試——布農族文化桌遊的創作。
我們希望把過去累積的文化紀錄與內容，轉化成更具互動性的學習媒材，讓兒童、青年及更多對布農族文化有興趣的人，可以透過遊戲的方式接觸文化、認識文化，也讓文化傳承不只存在於書本或展覽之中。
目前桌遊正在製作階段，插畫家也持續進行角色、場景及相關圖像的繪製。這次桌遊中的插畫採用手繪結合電繪的方式，由插畫家實際創作，並非使用AI生成圖像。從人物設定、服飾、場景到文化元素，都需要經過一次次的構圖、繪製與調整。
這次也先和大家分享一張目前正在創作中的作品，讓一路支持達海專案的朋友，可以一起看看這根「文化接力棒」正在前往什麼地方。
從生命紀錄、木雕展、繪本、文化教育，到現在的桌遊，我們使用的媒材一直在改變，但想做的事情始終沒有改變——讓文化繼續傳下去。
