In Phase 1 of the Sunshine House-New Shelter project, we reached our NT$2.5M goal — and even went beyond, raising NT$3,721,186 in total!#

Because of your support, we were able to clear the land, remove old structures, purchase materials, and lay the foundation. This was the step that turned a blueprint into something real — bringing us one step closer to giving every doggo a safe and peaceful home.

And now, we’re officially kicking off — 🏠 Phase 2 of the Sunshine House-New Shelter Project:building a safe and comforting home for our doggos!#

Our goal for this phase is NT$4.27 million.
The funds will be used to build 19 comfort rooms, 5 single recovery rooms, big and small gardens, a rehab pool, and improved ventilation and visual-barrier facilities — all designed so senior, disabled, and recovering doggos can live in a space that feels safe, peaceful, and truly their own.

The Sunshine House isn’t just a place to hide from wind and rain — it’s a home where our strays can really live well.

River, the little one who walks with a wobble.
A kind resident in Keelung spotted him limping along the roadside and worried he might get hit by passing cars, so they called PACK for help. It took quite a bit of effort to finally bring him to the vet. After checks, the doctor suspected his leg problem came from an old injury from his puppy days, or a congenital deformity.

They scanned for a microchip, and yes, he had one.
But when the owner was contacted, the only reply was a cold: “I don’t want him anymore.”

Thankfully, River turned out to be the sweetest, most affectionate little guy. When he plays, he hops around like a happy bunny — boing boing — and has become one of the most unique members of the PACK family.

Bernie is a 10-year-old Border Collie mix — handsome face, striking coat, the kind of dog many people imagine when they picture their “dream dog.”
But before arriving at PACK, he likely suffered from a trap injury, leaving a clear scar on his front leg. The experience made him extra shy and wary around people. He often dug small holes just to hide himself away.

Bernie isn’t good at showing affection, and he doesn’t know how to get close to humans — but deep down, he’s gentle and quietly longing for a sense of safety.
If he gets the chance to move into the Sunshine House, he’ll have more time to interact with the PACK team and slowly rebuild trust.

For Bernie, the Sunshine House isn’t just a new place to live — it’s the beginning of learning how to reconnect with the world, one careful step at a time.

Building the Sunshine House-New Shelter Project from the ground up is no easy task.
The total cost reaches NT$10 million — with no all-at-once funding and no government subsidies.

But step by step, with everyone coming together, we can make it happen — one brick, one effort, one act of kindness at a time.

This phase’s budget covers everything from basic construction to care facilities and platform operations.
As a nonprofit, we don’t have the resources to build something fancy — but every dollar is planned with intention, all for one purpose: to give our doggos a home that’s safe, reliable, and full of quality.

• PACK Taiwan｜Founded in 2016, based in the mountains of Sanzhi#

PACK Taiwan is a legally registered nonprofit that values transparency and integrity.
We regularly publish construction updates and financial reports, and we’re committed to improving stray-dog welfare, promoting adoption, and building stronger education.
Today, we care for about 170 doggos, with 70% over the age of 10.
We provide spacious living areas, balanced nutrition, and professional medical care so that every senior, disabled, or chronically ill pup can live safely, comfortably, and with dignity.

• PACK Prep School｜Taiwan’s first 4-stage adoption program

Launched in 2022, the system includes behavior assessment, obedience training, foster home, and adoption.
So far, we’ve helped 70+ dogs find their new families, and continue to bring back 60+ dogs for training and eventual adoption.
The rest remain with us long-term, living peacefully and supporting one another.

• Giving other shelters’ dogs a second chance#

Whenever our capacity allows, we visit public shelters to bring home dogs who are often overlooked or at risk of being forgotten. With training and proper care, we hope to give them the visibility — and the love — they deserve.

One day, we hope every dog will have a home with someone who loves him.
