As we draw closer to our mountains, we draw nearer to the heart of the land.

As we nestle closely at our mountains, we come to understand the beauty of the earth.

Taiwan is an extraordinary place, an island south of the Northern Hemisphere. Yet, it possesses a rich tapestry of ecosystems, ranging from the tropics to the polar zones. Our land encompasses a multitude of ever-changing landscapes, a wealth accumulated over countless millennia.

"Close to Mountains" is a three-year project that invites you to journey "close to the mountains." Read the paintings about the diverse mountain terrains at different elevations in Taiwan. To merge yourself with the wildland. To find solace in the forest. To feel the vastness and intricacy of our land.
