在印尼巴布亞的叢林部落中長大，後經歐美舞蹈系統影響，在自我身體文化的探索過程中開啟了將芭蕾、街舞、現代舞、德國舞蹈劇場的傳統、以及美式嘻哈文化，融入印尼傳統藝術與街頭文化的興趣。現在的印尼，有一群在街頭上教Animal Pop的老師們，和我在Jakarta、Bali、Solo、Jayapura推廣Animal Pop，鼓勵並支持弱勢家庭的孩子學舞。"Dance was essentially something close to nature, my life is already dance. by Jecko Siompo (Indonesia)MS第四季開學邀請到 Animal Pop 的創辦人兼藝術總監，來自印尼的 Jecko Siompo 到臺北，將他所研發的new urban dance style帶來MS。從第四季開始，我們與各個邀請導師合作連續兩週、漸進式學習的參與式課程。

本次 週一學校 與 Animal Pop 臺印共製 臺北藝術節《舞趴！舞趴！舞趴！行為指南》（Before／Step／After），邀請有興趣的MS學員們於兩場課程後，8月3號、4號一起在信義街頭舞動。

Animal Pop是印尼傳統文化與現代文化的融合，一種世界的新舞種。Animal源起於我對遠古時期人類的想像，他們赤腳肩負著糧食或重物，在山巒、溪水間跋涉、打獵，那種優美、踏實的腳步和動作。後來我將這種人類原始的不同感官與印尼原生動物的型態、動作結合，並進一步發掘到在印尼傳統文化裡，很多神靈是從動物而來的，例如，鳥類，袋鼠，爬蟲類、魚類，猴子，雞等等。Pop則是在我在接觸印尼外的文化如芭蕾、現代舞、街舞、舞蹈劇場等，所感受到的世界現代性。也就是說，Animal Pop是一種文化精神性與技術性的融合與練習。
本次系列課程，將引導大家瞭解Animal Pop的世界觀，與Animal Pop身體系統的學習，希望能夠與臺灣的參與者們一起發展出屬於臺北的Animal Pop。
Animal pop is inspired by Indonesia's local traditions and urban culture such as outside Indonesia. The word 'Animal' is inspired by traditional dances in Indonesia which almost all of them have the same inspiration that is from animals., for example moving like birds, kangaroos, reptiles, fish, monkeys, chicken-ayaman and many more. The word 'Pop' itself is inspired by a changing city culture that evolves following its trend. for example stylish ala Hiphop, Modern dance, Ballet, film cartoons, Animation and Mtv ..
The two elements above are also combined with ancient imagination such as ape humans who walked upright in the past whose lives were hunting, fishing, walking for vegetation and moving.
All of the above elements are the strength of what is in motion in a dance that I call Animal Pop Dance.

Jecko Siompo#
出生於巴布亞省的舞蹈家Jecko Siompo是印尼最著名的當代舞蹈藝術家之一。Jecko從小深受印尼傳統，如爪哇，蘇門答臘和米南民族舞蹈的薫陶；後來在雅加達藝術學院接受現代舞蹈，如芭蕾舞和街舞的訓練。1999年，他在紐約遇上嘻哈，將街頭舞蹈融入他巴布亞舞蹈文化的語彙中，並將雅加達的嘻哈次文化納入他的舞蹈創作和舞蹈電影中。Jecko曾參與印尼著名藝術家沙多諾．庫斯摩( Sardono W. Kusumo) 和博伊．G．索蒂 ( Boi G. Sakti )，以及國際編舞家Peter Chin（加拿大）的舞蹈作品。 2002年，他獲歌德學院授予獎學金，於德國學習舞蹈劇場。傑柯榮獲得多項國際獎項，是首位被德國漢堡Kampnagel邀請演出的印尼編舞家。他曾參與印度尼西亞，亞洲，歐洲和美國等國際舞蹈論壇和藝術節，包括臺灣關渡藝術節（1998），曼谷現場藝術（2007），大阪亞洲當代舞蹈節（2007，2008），東京亞洲舞蹈大會（ 2007）和香港藝術節（2009），亦擔任印尼最受歡迎電視節目“Let's Dance”的評審團成員。
Papuan-born, Jakarta-based dancer-choreographer Jecko Siompo is one of Indonesia’s most renowned contemporary dance artists. Jecko was trained in traditional form such as Javanese, Sumatran and Minang ethnic dance, and other contemporary forms as a student at the Jakarta Institute of the Arts, including ballet and street dance. In 1999, he picked up hip-hop in New York and has incorporated street dance into his vocabulary of Papuan dance culture, integrating Jakarta’s hip-hop subculture into his choreography and dance films. As a dancer, he has participated in productions by both well-known Indonesian artists Sardono W. Kusumo and Boi G. Sakti and international choreographers such as Peter Chin (Canada) locally and abroad. In 2002, he was awarded a scholarship by the Goethe-Institute to study dance theatre in Germany. He has participated in international dance forums and arts festivals both within Indonesia and across Asia, Europe and the US, including Live Arts Bangkok (2007), the Asia Contemporary Dance Festival in Osaka (2007, 2008), the Asian Dance Conference in Tokyo (2007), and the Hong Kong Arts Festival (2009). He is also a jury member of the popular Indonesian TV programme Let’s Dance.
